Promoting Great Parenting Network
CORE OUTCOME: Services, programmes and skills sharing and development for parents of Waitakere are linked in a supportive and empowering way, hosted by Violence Free Waitakere
OUR ROLE: We have convened this network since 2004 calling collaborators around the table who are passionate about promoting great parenting in our city and beyond. Our role is to keep this energy going and to foster collaborative initiatives , encouraging and supporting groups to work together in order to amplify the impact of individual programmes and projects.
HIGHLIGHTS :Bi monthly meetings attended by over a total of 130 people from over 60 different organisations. Meeting attendance between 20-40 every time . For a schedule of our meetings, held at Old St Michael's Church building in at the Corbans Estate Arts Centre 10-12:30 am on the 3rd Tuesday of each second month, contact our office. Project working groups formed to deliver Marvellous Mums, Westie Dads, Fathering Week, The Great Latch On and Toddler Day Out. Latest calls to working group action include Men in ECE and Parenting teenage boys, Birthing Centres in Waitakere, G-Force Grandparents
